My first 5k I wasn't even able to run the whole thing, and finished in around 32 minutes. The first time I ran the whole way was around 28 minutes. I worked down from there, going to a 24, then a 23, then a mid-21. I wasn't able to go sub-21 until I started training more intensely for cross country. My current PR is a 19:52.
